A fan cornered me today in the supermarket. It’s a college town so there’s a chance I might run into someone who has read one of my books. At the checkout a woman said she found the stories sexy beneath the cover. I was curious but felt it was impolite to ask what did she mean? I guess she saw that in my eyes for she said, “There’s no nudity on the cover but there’s plenty of hotness in between the pages. But what I liked best about it is that it’s a love story.”
I held my expression pleasant and thanked her for reading it saying I didn’t feel comfortable putting nudity on the cover. I figured anyone familiar with the legend of Azazel would figure that part out.
She said, “Thank you for not putting it on the cover.”
As you can imagine others were listening to the conversation but pretending not to. I guess I’ll have to get used to talking to fans about every aspect of the stories. I think she is perhaps the oldest fan I’ve met so far. She said she was 83. She said when you get her age you can say anything you like. LOL! The filter can come completely off your mouth. 🙂
She was a real darling to talk to.

About unholypursuit
A. White, an award winning former librarian, who is also a long time member of Romantic Time and Publisher's Weekly. A. White has been writing for over fifteen years. She took classes in creative writing in college, specializing in ancient myths and legends. and later at a local community center while living in Chicago. In college she won the national contest to verbally list every country in the world, it's capital and ingenious language. Her works are mainly horror, fantasy, extreme, and sci-fi as well as, as some may says, "the truly strange predicament and puzzling." Books that I've written are "Clash with the Immortals, and eleven others which are part of the "Unholy Pursuit saga,". She has been working on the Chronicles since 2007. She wished to complete them all before introducing them to public so the readers wouldn't have to for the continuation to be written.
The ideas of the book come from classic literature such as whose work greatly influence the world world such as Homer, Sophocles, Herodotus, Euripides, Socrates, Hippocrates, Aristophanes, Plato, Aristotle and many more. The "Book of Enoch" influenced the usage of Azazael as a main character and love interest. I created the primary main character from the Chronicle of Saints. I wanted to show them as real flesh and blood with thoughts, desires and yearning as any human. Not as they are so often depicted. So I created one of my own to show her as a real human that everyone can relate to.
That’s great news! For a book to catch the eyes of someone that age, it’s quite good. That’s a hard crowd to tempt with anything. I think it’s because they have lived long enough to have seen everything. So, something must be extraordinary to get their attention. Elderly people aren’t boring. I think it is us younger people who bores them. Now she will have all her friends reading your series, too. But I must agree with her. I’m not a prude, I can’t be for I’m an artist but some covers are way over the top. Some people don’t seems know there’s a difference between erotica and soft porn.In the art world people are always trying to convince you that soft porn is art. It is an art but not the kind you publicly display.

When I first met you remember I told you write exciting stories and the fans will come. You are receiving exceptional attention for a relatively unknown author.

Yes, you did say that after returning my manuscript. Thanks for believing in me. You also said ‘write, write, write, do not worry about who likes it and who don’t. There’s always going to be some who like it and some who don’t.”

Thank you Alma for writing love scenes that make dam sense. Before you came along this is the sort of love scene that most of us had to put up this. I was reading this book yesterday and I was like Okaaayyy..after buying the book which I won’t name her.I didn’t get all the great reviews this book got?!?!!? This is by far one of the most wasted..it started out ok, It was about a woman named Chloe who wrecked on the side of the road, A guy named Chase came to her rescue .Ok I got that part ..but not even an hour later, He takes her to his brothers’ guesthouse at the family winery..and into a bedroom where a naked woman (that he intended to sleep with before he met the love of his life, Chloe).(Heck, even Azazel had better sense than that.).and proceeds to have a conversation with this naked girl and she makes jokes about a threesome?? C’mon!!!! .Most women would walk out! Ok, 5 minutes later.. Chloe is masturbating in a bathtub in his brothers guest house and he intrudes on her in the bathroom, and proceeds to watch her?!!? Who masturbates in front of a man you met than less 30 minutes ago. No wonder her husband was beating her ass everyday if that’s the kind of shit she did. Some who is abused as they say this main character was is not doing these things. I would freak out if a man i barely knew 5 minutes had seen me completely naked and masturbating, but she shrugs it off and begins to joke with him about it. And 48 hours ago) blah blah blah!!! This was beyond a sappy romance..this was just plain ridiculous!!!!! An insult to all women! There was no conversation by the way these two, nothing happened to make them fall in love with each other, there was no conflict they supposedly just fell in love …whatever!!! I quit reading about mid ways through because i just couldn’t take the repetitiveness of their thoughts..and ridiculous banter! Ugh..well there’s my rant. I picked your book again. I couldn’t take that anymore.

Wow! Amanda, although I am humbled and thanks you for the support. But I hope I never write anything to tee you off that badly. But I do not believe I have read the book you are referring to. But you must remember that every author writes differently. I know it is hard to change from one mind frame to another. I have read some books and had a hard time switching to another too especially if I wanted the story to continue but it didn’t. I usually give it a day or two before picking something else to read. I give myself time to adopt to the new story I’m reading. But I’m curious as to how there’s no dialogue leading up to the sexual encounter.
