What more can be done?

I haven’t written in a few days due to I know someone at the University of Virginia. I, as many of you, I’m loss for words to express my sympathy or to explain what’s going on?

But I will say this. We need more love in the world. There’s far too much hate.

There seems to be no end to the hatred being spewed. No amount of protesting, love shown, reasoning with seemed to be working. It’s all falling on deaf ear and shunned with a cold shoulder.

Just yesterday, I overheard a young woman say this storm will soon blow over and things return to normal.

This behavior is not normal. Normal people do not drive vehicles into crowds of other human beings.  People do not reanimate as characters in video games. Once a life is taken, you can’t put a token in a slot and the person comes alive again.

However, if you look back on history this is the exact kind of behavior that has destroyed many ancient civilizations. This is how they destroyed themselves from within.

As Dr. King said, quoting Theodore Parker, ““Let us realize the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.

I’m quoting another, much older saying, “You can’t justify it in the end.”

Things like this is why I included many of the social issues we deal with today in a futuristic series. The changes must start today, we can’t keep delaying social issues that are unpleasant and expect to arrive in an highly evolved, sparkling brand new future with a society ruled by equality and respect for the fellow human; a moneyless society as often portrayed in sci-fi fiction. How is that any different than what Milton wrote in Paradise Lost or Thomas More wrote in Utopia?

They are all pretty much saying the same things but in the end Milton and More wrote it was a wonderful dream.

I know as I write these words they will be ignored as many others like these have been ignored but my hope is that someone stumble across today, tomorrow, next month, or a hundred years from now and refrain from hurting another human being.

About unholypursuit

A. White, a former librarian who is also long time member of Romantic Time and Publisher's Weekly. A. White has been writing for over fifteen years. She took classes in creative writing in college, specializing in ancient myths and legends. and at a local community center while living in Chicago. In college she won the national contest to verbally list every country in the world, it's capital and ingenious language. Her works are mainly horror, fantasy, extreme, and sci-fi as well as, as some may says, "the truly strange predicament and puzzling." Books that I've written are "Clash with the Immortals, and eleven others which are part of the "Unholy Pursuit saga,". She has been working on the Chronicles since 2007. She wished to complete them all before introducing them to public so the readers wouldn't have to for the continuation to be written. The ideas of the book come from classic literature such as whose work greatly influence the world world such as Homer, Sophocles, Herodotus, Euripides, Socrates, Hippocrates, Aristophanes, Plato, Aristotle and many more. The "Book of Enoch" influenced the usage of Azazael as a main character and love interest. I created the primary main character from the Chronicle of Saints. I wanted to show them as real flesh and blood with thoughts, desires and yearning as any human. Not as they are so often depicted. So I created one of my own to show her as a real human that everyone can relate to.
