The first Noel the angels did say
Was to certain poor shepards in fields as they lay:
In fields where they lay keeping their sheep
On a cold winter’s night that was so deep
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel!
They looked up and saw a star
Shining in the east beyond them far
And to the earth it gave great light
And so it continued both day and night
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel!
And by the light of that same star
Three Wise men came from country far
To seek for a King was their intent
And to follow the star wherever it went
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel!
This star drew nigh to the northwest
O’er Bethlehem it took its rest
And there it did both stop and stay
Right o’er the place where Jesus lay
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel!
Then entered in those Wise men three
Fell reverently upon their knee
And offered there in His presence
Their gold and myrrh and frankincense
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the kind of Israel!
Then let us all with one accord
Sing praises to our heavenly Lord
That hath made heaven and earth of nought
And with his blood mankind has bought
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel!
Fun Facts
In archaeological studies there are accounts of this strange and unusual star being seen global which was seen in Bethlehem. No one knows for sure what it was for there was no central recording methods back then. But there have been accounts of it being seen in many other parts of the world. Parts of the world that had no idea where Bethlehem of Judah was located over 2,000 years.
No one knows what the phenomenon in the sky was but there are accounts of it all over the world about it and all of them are very similar. There was no world news back then to correlate a similar story. It’s described as brighter than the sun. It lit up the earth at night or shone in the daylight like a very bright sunrise and the people heard voices and saw people in the sky which terrified the people. They heard these sky people telling them in their own language to fear not for we bring you tidings of great joy. I don’t think a mass hysteria nor a global mass illusion was the culprit.
I think something actually happened. I don’t think kings would follow a star for nearly a year for no good reason. It was obviously something these seasoned stargazers had never seen and it was close to the earth as to why they followed it.
