Once, many years ago while in Philly I visited this place because I thought it was about ‘reading’, you know books, not food. Nonetheless, I enjoyed myself and wondered if this was where the name Reading comes by the railroad company in the Monopoly game: Reading Railroad. In the standard US version of Monopoly, Reading Railroad is the first of four railroads.
Reading Terminal Market is an enclosed public market located at 12th and Arch Streets in Center City Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It has an indoor farmer’s market offering diverse fare, housewares & area specialties.
Of course, my family enjoyed the food more than my searching for books I wanted to read.
The place dates back to the 1700’s and the architecture show it. No, it’s not run down or things in derelict condition.
