The move is silence. It was made in 1927 and was nearly lost the world. Some parts we see today are remakes later added because so much of the original was destroyed.

Yes, I heard it was based upon a novel. A book I haven’t read yet. According to what I found on the book it was written in 1925. Metropolis is a novel by the German writer Thea von Harbou. The story is set in 2026 in a technologically advanced city. I know the movie was made in 1927. I don’t see the big deal about it as to why it was banned. I can see where Brave New World and 1984 took their outlines from Metropolis. I was reading the author’s autobiography and it proves unconventional for a woman that era.
