Summer months and authors in this new normal.

With the summer months generally being slow months for online activities especially in the literary world. So, what is a primary online marketing author to do? It’s unsafe in many places to go to where ever the public is. These days, most marketing is safer done online than in public.

I’m making some adjustments to this post for this was originally written two years ago.  One way to market your book is to create virtual posters for your books and post them just about anywhere that allow you to do so. That way you can place them in numerous places displaying different scene from the book. You will be surprised at who might click on it up and later ask questions about your work.

I know there’s a lot of talk about targeted market. Finding your readers. But don’t assume anything. Just because of your genre or character’s personality doesn’t  fit a certain mode don’t assume who will be interested in reading your work. And as I said before, most of the times, those whom your work is geared toward, most likely isn’t going to read it because they already have a favorite author in that genre. Like for example, most of my readers are men. That’s right. Most are guys and independent thinking women. Believe it or not, guys like to read  about action and romance. They just don’t care much for the excessively emotional romance but they like love stories. You would think most would be Moms due to the main character being a very protective mother, but most of my readers aren’t. Or at least not those who have let me know they are familiar with the books. They aren’t Moms. Guys have told me they like how Ana always put Bea first regardless of what’s going down. Since the first posting of this article the readership of women have grown.

Another effective way to spread the word is use internet flyers. You can create them from any basic graphic program.  Many online newspaper have free ad sections. Post your flyer there. It would be a good idea to post a link to your blog or book.

In these days of tight budgets and many people are out of work writers are affected too. There are many creative ways to spread the word without costing you a cent. This paves the way for your Fall books you’ve spend your summer days getting ready.

About unholypursuit

A. White, an award winning former librarian, who is also a long time member of Romantic Time and Publisher's Weekly. A. White has been writing for over fifteen years. She took classes in creative writing in college, specializing in ancient myths and legends. and later at a local community center while living in Chicago. In college she won the national contest to verbally list every country in the world, it's capital and ingenious language. Her works are mainly horror, fantasy, extreme, and sci-fi as well as, as some may says, "the truly strange predicament and puzzling." Books that I've written are "Clash with the Immortals, and eleven others which are part of the "Unholy Pursuit saga,". She has been working on the Chronicles since 2007. She wished to complete them all before introducing them to public so the readers wouldn't have to for the continuation to be written. The ideas of the book come from classic literature such as whose work greatly influence the world world such as Homer, Sophocles, Herodotus, Euripides, Socrates, Hippocrates, Aristophanes, Plato, Aristotle and many more. The "Book of Enoch" influenced the usage of Azazael as a main character and love interest. I created the primary main character from the Chronicle of Saints. I wanted to show them as real flesh and blood with thoughts, desires and yearning as any human. Not as they are so often depicted. So I created one of my own to show her as a real human that everyone can relate to.
