25 Things Moms hope don’t happen for the Holidays
Â
Dedication
I dedicated this book to my mother and how we used to prepared for the holidays. How we hoped that certain things did not happen but they usually did and how we got around them.
Mom was my hero. She was truly a remarkable woman whose life was an epic in all agendas. She showed me what real love and devotion really is. She is whom I learned from. Mom was the toughest person I know. The things she endured and over come in her life are truly inspirational. She was beautiful, smart, and well-educated. But yet down to earth, warm and charitable to all she met unless you gave her a reason not to be. I learned from watching her that greatness doesn’t come from how much wealth you have. But from how much character you have. She taught me it’s the embodiment of one’s character that makes them great, not wealth.
It’s easy to be great when one has unlimited resources and everyone bowing down to them telling them how great they are. But it is an insurmountable task if you do not have limitless wealth.
She taught me that being a good person doesn’t mean being a doormat or pushover as society so often defines it. It means being you, but giving the best love that you can give but speaking your mind and standing tall and strong when needed.
She taught me that the holidays are no different from the rest of the year; whereas anything that can go wrong will. She used to say the rest of the year when things go wrong you take the lemons handed to you and make lemonade. But by the end of the year so much nutty stuff has happened and come your way that you have more than enough ingredients to make a fruitcake, because that’s what nutty people bring you, nutty and dried fruity things. So you take the nutty and dried fruity things and make the most tasty fruitcake. The ingredients gathered all year long for a fruit cake comes from type of nuttiness and fruitiness in the world. So by Christmastime you have enough to make several dozens and several different kinds of fruitcakes. That’s the spirit of Christmas. 🤠🙂
Your mum sounds wonderful, and I do like her mottos. Good luck with your novel, it sounds lovely.

I read the book. It is short, but practical. I see where your strong character comes from. Your mom.
