A Protester dubbed ‘Naked Athena’ faces off with Portland police-WARNING: This post contains discussion of nudity that some might find offensive.

I guess one could call her a Modern Day Lady Godiva but I don’t record the story of Lady Godiva striking that pose. A woman wearing only a hat and face mask approached a line of police officers at SW 3rd and Taylor early in the morning of July 18, 2020, after a long night of protests in downtown Portland

The protesting in Portland has been furious for nearly two months. Portland Oregon demonstrations has been going on for over fifty days and the protesters have been beaten, tear gassed and shot with rubber bullets.

This brave woman was determined to stop the police from attacking the protesters. She pulled a Modern Day Lady Godiva.

She was a brave one. I will give her, her just due.

Did she take the right approach?

Well, that’s an opinion to each their own. At least, they stopped shooting and gassing the people, although, they shot a pepper canister at her feet.

Lady Godiva was a freedom rider
She didn’t care if the whole world looked
Joan of Arc with the Lord to guide her
She was a sister who really cooked
Isabella was the first bra-burner
Ain’t ya glad she showed up? (Oh yeah!)

I wanted to show them as real flesh and blood with thoughts, desires and yearning as any human. Not as they are so often depicted. So I created one of my own to show her as a real human that everyone can relate to.

Why did I write what I did about Isabella, [ Isadora] Queen Isabella agreed to fund the voyage Of Christoper Columbus and in August of 1492, Columbus set sail from the Spanish port of Palos westward with three ships and 88 men looking for a new route to India because the pirates of Africa was giving everyone trying to get to India hell. Daring anyone to try to get pass them in the Mediterranean. If the pirates didn’t get you then the fierce Storms out of the Cape of Good Hope would.
Columbus first voyage to the Americas. the names of the three ships that sailed on Christopher Columbus’ maiden voyage to the New World – the Niña, Pinta and Santa Maria.

As for your second question. Columbus was from Genoa, Italy. He was not Spanish. I assume the Medici and Capulets were too busy fighting off the Orsini, Cesarini, Borghese, Aldobrandini, Ludovisi, and Giustiniani the Pamphili, of Colonna and the Barberini to finance Columbus. Anyway they turned him down.

Anyway, the voyage turned out to be a bad thing for the rest of the world as to why I said ‘hell no’ about Isabella.

Amerigus not [Amerigo as it is written in later years] Vespucci was of Italian and African ancestry. No, you aren’t going find this in modern history books or on the internet where everything has been revisionized. You would need to read a history books predating the internet.
