I saw a Vertical Rainbow, a Sun Dog Rainbow yesterday.

I had never seen one and certainly never saw one so close. The rainbow I and my family walked under about 15 years ago was arching not a straight pillar.

Up in this area there are all kinds of natural phenomenons.  I had to research and learn what do you call a vertical rainbow? I saw one yesterday and watched it until it faded which wasn’t quickly.

A vertical rainbow in the sky – a Sun Dog, which is also called a Parhelion. A Sun Dog is a rainbow in the sky but there are no rain clouds. It is formed when light rays pass through high cirrus clouds.

I have seen arching rainbows and even fragmented arc rainbows of many different colors ranging from solid pink to peach. Blues and even bright red and solid green but I never seen one descending straight from the sky like a pillar until yesterday evening when I looked outside. That’s what it looked more like. It looked like a colorful pillar. The picture doesn’t do it justice. It was complete, with the same consistency without fading all the way down to the earth.

I have seen black lighting, a vertical rainbow, mauve morning, dancing stars beside the sun. So I wonders what’s next.

A. White, an award winning former librarian, who is also a long time member of Romantic Time and Publisher's Weekly. A. White has been writing for over fifteen years. She took classes in creative writing in college, specializing in ancient myths and legends. and later at a local community center while living in Chicago. In college she won the national contest to verbally list every country in the world, it's capital and ingenious language. Her works are mainly horror, fantasy, extreme, and sci-fi as well as, as some may says, "the truly strange predicament and puzzling." Books that I've written are "Clash with the Immortals, and eleven others which are part of the "Unholy Pursuit saga,". She has been working on the Chronicles since 2007. She wished to complete them all before introducing them to public so the readers wouldn't have to for the continuation to be written. The ideas of the book come from classic literature such as whose work greatly influence the world world such as Homer, Sophocles, Herodotus, Euripides, Socrates, Hippocrates, Aristophanes, Plato, Aristotle and many more. The "Book of Enoch" influenced the usage of Azazael as a main character and love interest. I created the primary main character from the Chronicle of Saints. I wanted to show them as real flesh and blood with thoughts, desires and yearning as any human. Not as they are so often depicted. So I created one of my own to show her as a real human that everyone can relate to.

    • Yes, it was. An experience I’ll never forget. I learned something from this. You can find the end of a rainbow. You simply stumble upon it. It was like it was protruding out of the ground expanding straight to the sky. It was damp. You could see and the water particles on your hand when you ran your hand through it. Actually that was my second time experiencing a live rainbow. The first time was we were returning from the west, heading back east and got caught in a rain storm and when the rain slacken… there it was. Out in the middle of a field in Kansas. We turned off the expressway and drove out there and sure enough we found ourselves at the end of the arch.
